La Iglesia de la Intercesión ha albergado un centro de espera para refugiados con hasta 300 hombres pasando la noche en nuestro gimnasio. Esto se basó en un contrato que vence en septiembre de 2024. Ese contrato se rompió, pero la parroquia ofreció y aceptó otro. El nuevo contrato prevé un centro de acogida los 7 días de la semana, de 7 a 19 horas. El centro estará principalmente en la primera mitad de la nave de la iglesia, utilizando la entrada de Broadway.

Este arreglo hace varias cosas:

   -permite la continuación de los programas actuales de la iglesia, especialmente en el gimnasio

   -Abre las puertas de nuestra iglesia de manera acogedora. Actualmente, la iglesia está cerrada la mayor parte de la semana.

Este contrato nos ayuda como comunidad cristiana a satisfacer las necesidades de hermanas y hermanos en dificultades. Nos brinda un colchón financiero a medida que continuamos buscando formas de desarrollar un presupuesto estable y continuo. Y transforma nuestra iglesia propiamente dicha de una puerta cerrada a un centro de bienvenida de puertas abiertas en más de un sentido.

Equipo de Oración.¿Está interesado en ser parte de un equipo de oración que ofrecerá oraciones por los enfermos, los necesitados, preocupaciones por la paz en el mundo y oraciones por los nuestros? Puedes participar en este grupo en casa o en la iglesia. Dejemos que el P. Jim pueda saber si estás interesado. La oración es una parte importante del trabajo de la iglesia.

The Church of the Intercession has housed a waiting center for refugees with up to 300 men spending the night in our gym.  This was based on a contract running to September 2024. That contract has been broken but another has been offered and accepted by the Vestry.  The new contract calls for a welcoming center 7 days a week from 7am to 7pm. The center will be primarily in the first half of the nave of the church, using the Broadway entrance. 

This arrangement does several things: 

   -it allows for the continuation of current church programs, especially in the gym

   -it opens the doors of our church in a welcoming way. Currently, the church is closed most of the week.

This contract helps us as a Christian community to meet the needs of sisters and brothers in distress.  It gives us a financial cushion as we continue to find ways to develop a stable, on-going budget.  And it transforms our church proper from a closed door to an open door welcoming center in more ways than one. Prayer Team.
