Special Sundays and receptions. Families want to remember loved ones who have died as well as other special occasions, and it is wonderful to have the occasion celebrated during the mass. Often relatives and friends are invited for these special events and often there is a reception in the Common Room right after mass. This is all great. BUT, sometimes we are surprised. No one told us. And second, sometimes the Common Room cannot accommodate all the people. That room is limited to 125 people. To avoid confusion, we now have a special form called “Special Mass” where you can give us basic information: is this a memorial mass? How many people are expecting? Do you want to invite your guests to the Coffee Hour and if so, at 11 am or 1pm? This all needs to be done two weeks before the event. Thanks for helping us all out to make Sundays safe at Intercession.
Who Can Receive Holy Communion? The Episcopal Church teaches that all baptized people can and are expected to receive Holy Communion. This includes everyone, adults, children and even infants. Ask the priest how infants can receive the sacrament. When the family gathers around the table for the celebration, everyone gets to eat.
